Things you can learn from Scott

Guitar nut.png

Guitar

I teach many styles of guitar and am comfortable helping complete beginners, intermediate and even advanced guitar players. I can help with complicated things like the CAGED System, how to solo, and how to get around the whole fingerboard. I can also help you start from the very beginning with good practice and technique habits.

Bass Guitar

I started out on guitar back in 1997 and it took me a while to come around to bass but once I did it changed my life. Bass guitar is its own animal and while it shares a lot of similarities with its six stringed cousin, the skillset involved with bass is truly unique and exciting. I can help you understand the theory, technique and mindset of how to be a bass player.

Songwriting

Maybe you’ve been playing music for a while now and you’re ready to explore writing songs. If you can play a few chords on guitar, you can write a song. We’ll start from the very beginning with fun writing exercises and move into lyric writing, making chord progressions more interesting, making beautiful melodies. I truly love helping learn to write music.

Music Theory.png

Music Theory

If you’re curious about how it all fits together, I can help! From reading music to understanding chords in a key to analyzing complex melodic and harmonic structures. Music theory pairs well with songwriting and music production but can also be a fun starting point for someone who wants to learn the fundamentals of how music works.

Music production

Modern musicians needs to be flexible. Knowing how to record and produce music you a massive advantage as a musician. I like to help my students learn to write, record and mix their own music with recording software. My native software is Logic Pro X and Garageband, but I’ve helped producers learn to use FL Studios, Reaper, Pro Tools and more.

Music Business

Maybe you’d like to start a band, get some gigs, and record some music. How do you go about doing all these things? I’ve had experience with co-writing for and with a number of musicians and have had songs in TV shows and movies. I can help you find and grow your audience, build your brand, and release your music.
